The following cookies are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.

bs_session: keeps you logged in to the learning portal. Lasts 30 days from your last login, and is removed when you log out.

bs-consent: remembers your choice on the cookie notice (accept or decline) so you are not asked again. Lasts 1 year.

bs-theme-choice: remembers the dark theme if you chose it; without this cookie the site shows light. Lasts 1 year.

bs-seat: marks the seat you are reserving during signup so nobody else takes it while you pay. Lasts 24 hours.

bs-ref: remembers a referral code if you arrived from a friend's link, so your friend is credited when you sign up. Lasts 30 days.

bs-ad and bs-ad-last: remember the code of the ad or link that brought you to this site (a TikTok ad, for example), so we know which ads are worth running. Only we read them; no ad network has access. Last 30 days.

bs-ttclid: TikTok's click id, only if you arrived from a TikTok ad. Used to tell TikTok that its ad led to a paid sign-up. Lasts 30 days.

bs-internal: for the BisaSpeak team only, set from the /internal page. Marks this browser as ours, so its visits are not counted in the statistics and no analytics tool loads. Lasts 400 days.

NEXT_LOCALE: may be set to remember the language you chose (Indonesian or English).

Analytics and advertising cookies (on by default outside the EU, UK and Switzerland; opt-in inside)

Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies to count visits: pages opened, for how long, and which buttons are tapped. These cookies last up to 2 years. In Indonesia and other countries outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland they are on from the first visit on the basis of our legitimate interest, with no cookie notice. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland a cookie notice is shown and they are only set after you tap OK; before that Google Analytics runs without cookies and without identifiers.

Microsoft Clarity records how the public pages are used (scrolling, taps, and which parts are on screen) as anonymous heat maps and session recordings. Its _clck (lasts 1 year) and _clsk (lasts 1 day) cookies recognise your return visits and follow the same rule as Google Analytics above: on from the start outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and only after OK inside them. Without cookies Clarity still runs, but each page is counted on its own and never linked to another page or visit. Anything you type into a form is masked and not recorded.

While we run ads on TikTok, the TikTok pixel sets the _ttp and _tt_enable_cookie cookies (lasting up to 13 months) so TikTok knows that a visit, sign-up or payment came from its ad. The pixel follows the same rule: loaded from the start outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and not loaded at all inside them before you tap OK.

bs-vid: recognises your return visits in our own behaviour log (which parts of a page were on screen and for how long, how far you scrolled, which buttons you tapped). Lasts 30 days, under the same regional rule as above. Without this cookie the log is still kept but anonymous: no IP address, and one visit is never linked to another.

Analytics cookies are not used inside the learning portal, only on the public pages.

Local storage on your device

Besides cookies, your browser stores a few things locally that are never sent to our server: your theme choice, progress in free games and guides you open without logging in, and contact details you type into one form so the next form is prefilled during the same visit.

Managing or withdrawing consent

To refuse analytics cookies, block third-party cookies or cookies for bisaspeak.com in your browser settings (without the necessary cookies you cannot log in to the portal). In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, deleting this site's cookies brings the cookie notice back and you can choose Decline.
